Our Hyper-Casual F2P Social Media Game Feardemic’s TikTok Dungeon Debuts To Great Success

Feardemic is where horror comes home and we’ve recently taken another huge step in our mission to become a cross-platform games publishing powerhouse. Horror games come in all varieties, some more casual, some significantly more involved, but we’ve taken it even further, by premiering our newest free-to-play, hypercasual title - Feardemic’s TikTok Dungeon, which you can play, as you may have already surmised, entirely through TikTok.

Feardemic's TikTok Dungeon has launched last week on January 11th, 2023, and it immediately exploded in popularity over the first 20 hours of its life, racking up:

- More than 4.5 million likes;

- 38.7K unique users;

- A peak of 919 simultaneous players.

Feardemic’s TikTok Dungeon is a simple yet terrifying game that you can play entirely through Tik-Tok. Enter the dungeon, if you dare, but be advised, while the game is free, there are worse things you can be stripped of than your money.

The game started out as a research and development product developed by key members of our internal porting team to measure our ability to engage gaming audiences on new platforms outside of PC and consoles, but there was nothing that could’ve prepared us for the game’s massive success.

We expect to keep developing Feardemic's TikTok Dungeon over the coming months to include other mechanics that the company feels will be well received by the Tik-Tok community.

How does the game work?

In simple terms, you tap on the screen to cause damage to the monsters. Whenever your profile photo appears on the screen, it means you’ve received experience. The experience required for each level up is Level * 10, e.g. to advance to level 7, you will require 70 exp.

The high-score leaderboard is updated automatically after every 10 monsters defeated. If your name has not appeared on the board it’s possibly because you haven’t yet reached level 3, which is required for your high score to be registered.

While presently Feardemic's TikTok Dungeon is Free to Play, we’re experimenting with different ways to monetize the game as well as brainstorming ideas for other games and interactive experiences for Tik-Tok over the coming months.
